8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
JULY 31 - August 14
On August 24th, Deacon Mark Ryan will be transporting crates of supplies to Krakow, Poland that will be used to provide support to Ukraine. It is our hope to provide 10 crates.
Your discipleship group or missional community can commit to a crate; or you can simply bring supplies on your own to the church lobby. You can also make a financial gift using the link below.
At New City Church we are. passionate about seeing Christ's Kingdom established in every nation. We believe that God transforms lives and cultures abroad the same way he does at home - through the evangelistic discipleship relationships that can only be found within the biblical community of the local church. Therefore, we focus our limited resources on indigenous church planting. This is done in two primary ways:
Our vision is to partner with organizations that are actively planting churches or supporting church planters. We support our ministry partners financially, with prayer, by sponsoring them when they visit the U.S., through donation drives, and by sending short term mission teams.
It is our vision to see global communities renewed by the transformative power of the gospel as new churches are planted and fledgling churches are supported. Our goal is to send and support 1% of our people as they are called to long term missions.
How You Can Get InvolVED
The Great Commission
18And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Because the Great Commission is what being a Christian is all about, every believer is called to be a part of Global Missions in one way or another. God will call some to physically go to build his Kingdom in other nations. Some will be called to long term commitments. Others will be called to short term trips. Those who do not physically go are called to support those who do in a variety of ways.
Consider Your Call
Do your best to set aside all your concerns and preconceptions and simply ask God how He wants you and your family to take part in the Great Commission.
If you feel that God may be calling you to the mission field, we want to hear from you.
Commit to Pray
Be intentional about praying for Global Missions at New City Church. Consider devoting one quiet time a week to specifically pray for missionaries and particular mission fields.
We would love for you to join us in praying as we seek out our next global partnership which will be the focus of a short-term mission trip in Summer of 2022.
You can also attend one of our quarterly Global Missions prayer gatherings.
Sign up for our email updates and we will ensure you are informed about events, prayer gatherings, and other Global Missions related information.
The 1% Campaign
Our goal is to see 1% of our New City Church covenant partners discover and answer a call from God to make a long-term commitment to planting churches through Global Missions. These people would be supported by New City Church - through the generous giving of our other covenant partners and through regular short term mission trips. For a church our size, 1% is about 2 or 3 people - we know that God can do this!
Please join us in praying for the 1%. Pray that God would call 2 or 3 people from New City Church to Global Missions. Please also pray that the generosity of our people would be stirred toward supporting them. If you think you may be one of the 1% called to go, we really want to hear from you.
Companion With The Poor
Companion With The Poor is an amazing non-profit church planting organization that ministers to the most impoverished and least evangelized slum communities in Metro Manila (and nearby provincial cities) in The Philippines. Their focus is on the planting of holistic churches that meet the spiritual and physical needs of the marginalized people within their reach. This is done through partnerships with established local churches with the goal of church plants being self-sustaining within two years.
Sitio Siwang in Taytay Rizal
Pastor JoJo and his family have. been ministering to the people of the slum at Sitio Siwang in Taytay Rizal. This is a community that has been ravaged by the effects of multiple typhoons on top of the existing poverty. CWTP has been providing relief efforts to meet the physical needs of this community. In November of 2020, they held the first worship service in this area in the last three years and twenty-five adults received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Their current goal is to acquire enough property (100 square meters) to build a church facility and to assist the community in rebuilding their homes and move out of their temporary tent community.
Bringing Acts of Goodness to Strangers
One of our Covenant Partners, Sheila Evert, has a vibrant non-profit ministry called BAGS. Every year, in partnership with CWTP, she organizes a school supply drive to meet the needs of Filipino children in the slums of Manila. The children's ministry of New City Church - New City Kids - partners with BAGS every summer to gather backpacks and school supplies.
